FIRM HISTORY

Engineered Designs, Inc. was established in 1997. Ginger Scoggins founded the firm to meet a growing desire expressed by owners and architects for more personal involvement and commitment along with quality engineering design services. The initial core team of four people completed only 10 projects in the first year of operation. During the course of the last 26 years, the number of projects initiated has surpassed 100 annually and the number of employees has more than quadrupled.

Located in Cary on Southeast Cary Parkway, EDi is convenient to both downtown Raleigh and Research Triangle Park. EDI is centrally located to easily serve all of Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, and surrounding areas. Our engineers routinely provide engineering services for facilities from the mountains to the coast, and are licensed to serve North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, and Virginia.

From feasibility and facility studies to energy analysis and modeling to construction administration and commissioning, EDI offers professional services to meet all phases of project design and construction needs for our clients. we can cover all phases of project completion. The principal engineers have over 50 years of combined engineering experience providing services for education, mission critical, health science, government, corporate, and commercial clients.

Today - EDi is a team of professionals providing building systems design, code consulting, energy analysis, and commissioning. Our professionals seek to design buildings that not only work, but also consume the lowest amount of energy and have minimal environmental impact. Through energy management and systems commissioning, we can assist owners in evaluating, optimizing, and maintaining building performance.
